Good self defense/martial arts/karate video?
hi i dont take any karate or tai kwan do (forgive my spelling if im wrong) and i wanted to learn some on youtube. know of any good videos?
nothing with a knife, but with a stick is ok.

What do you think about this video - pimp vs. karate?
This is an old video you may have already seen... pimp versus Karate guy.
Would you consider this an example of how martial arts training helps in self defense?
Some observations:
1) One strike = end of fight (just like many martial arts teach, such as my TKD training)
2) This fight did not end up on the ground.
Your thoughts?
judomofo - The reason he didn't walk away was that his intention was not to just get into a fight, he was protecting a woman from getting slapped around by a low-life pimp. Walking away would have been the wrong thing to do as she would have likely been beat up more or even worse.
Martial artists are supposed to use their art only for protection of themselves or others. This would qualify in my book.
As for the camera, the narrator says that it just so happened he was filming something for a police department video when the incident occurred. Just a coincidence.
I'll give you that was a lucky strike, but then again the more you prepare the luckier you get. Wisely, his right hand was ready for a combination which wasn't needed. You never want to depend on the first strike ending the fight. That may be the ideal situation, but then again the ideal score for a round of golf is 18.
