Women Self Defense Weapons
Do you think the women who learn martial arts for combat and self defense should train at a male level?
If it came to combat situations, being a police officer, a Texas Ranger or a soldier, I would definitely think so. I know that men and women have a different physique with strengths and weaknesses. A girl will need strength and endurance training, as well as sharpen her skills to go to the highest possible level she could reach, as well as take weapons, and grappling training. Physical training is important, but mental discipline, and emotional strength is much more important in order to have the mindset for these sorts of jobs.
i don't think it's a female / male thing so much as a size and weight thing because i know some women who could really hold their own against other officers i work with.
ok you take a 145 lbs woman and 145lbs man and they are about to face off on one another... but the man has no training just his strength and the woman is trained in akido / combative skill. The woman will have the upper hand. now you take the same woman and put her against a 200lb man, and the out come will be the same because her skills just even the field for her.
