How do I start an nonprofit organization that is for the betterment of women in KC?

I am wantiing to create an organization that provides information to a particular age group of women. This would allow women from the age of 25-35 to begin expressing the enevidability of "almost making it". I need some constructive criticizim, and maybe some leads myself, however I do want to give a weekly exclusive to local business that are for the betterment of all women but may benefit our age range inparticular. So where do I start?

The Nonprofit FAQs (http://www.nonprofits.org), now hosted at IdeaList, will give you information on all the paperwork you will need to file and administrative tasks you will have to go through in order to form a nonprofit. There are also tips on recruiting a board of directors.

But first, you need to get a very impassioned group of people together who support your idea, you need to get letters of endorsement from existing organizations saying this program is needed, and you need to have data that shows this group of women need whatever service it is that you want to provide and that they are not served otherwise.

I think the first thing you should do is work on what it is you want to do, because I really don't understand at all. The mission of your organization would be to serve whom? How? Why?

How to get along with neighbor women who are catty:?

I have recently moved to a neighborhood where the families are very close and the women are very clicky. They will stand in little groups and often gossip and seem to pick on other people. I care to get along with them simply because my children are close to their children's ages. I really don't trust many of them as it seems that they love to talk about eachother and seem to be in everyones business. I'm always trying to gain their approval so I'm the topic of conversation. I really feel like an outsider and loner. Please help!

Well really if they're clicky and they gossip why do you want to have a friendship with them? Just to be a part of the "click"? Is that what you want your kids to look up to or even hang out with, their kids are probably just like them? If you gain acceptance to the click, then you will be expected to be just like them.

Just see what sort of common interests that you may have with some of them like crafting, scrapbooking, sports, etc.

I still say you don't need any friends like them, but I understand you want your kids to have some other kids to play with.
