Who would be more effective at fixing the economy: Obama or McCain?
At the beginning, I was largely an Obama fan. Now though, I'm a bit torn between both of them.
McCain wants to lower taxes, giving the biggest tax breaks to the top few percent in the US. However, he will continue the war in Iraq and as a result, the government has less money to spend on health, education, etc. Also, how will he manage the debt that the US is currently in if taxes are lowered? Where's the money going to come from?
As for Obama, he will lower taxes for 95% of people but this means that the taxes placed on the top 5% in the economy will be monumental. The top 5% consist of the successful entrepreneurs, the large corporations and firms that really get the economy moving, and if such taxes were imposed, more and more workers will be made redundant to compensate for this.
I just want to get some more opinions. Who do you think would have the better plan in place to fix the economy? Why? 10 points will go to the most detailed answer.
