what is a good chinese martial art for self defense?

im not asking what is the BEST martial art, because i kno its not the art, its the practitioner.

Well.. you don't really need to learn a specific type of martial art, because they are just simply too hard to master. Also, most chinese traditional martial arts require you to start at a young age and they take a while to learn. If you are looking for self defense, I recommend you taking some basic karate and self defense classes, because they usually integrate many type of martial art that is easy to learn but also useful.
But I think the most important part is being consistent and persistent in training and practicing your techniques. Don't be lazy and just learn for a few weeks and quit.

Best Self-Defense Art?

Hi, I was wondering which Martial Art would be best for self-defense. I was thinking something along the lines of Krav Maga or something. Any opinions are appreciated. Thank you.

Good grief...you are not shopping for shoes! Think along the lines of self preservation, or something. Do some searches on this forum (Y!A), and read what every single senior martial artist on here has to say about "style shopping". You need to look at what is available to you. Look at the classes, and talk to them and see which club offers what you seek. Nobody can tell you what YOU want to do. I do shotokan, and I make it work. Why is that? It was available to me, had a good teacher, and I learned to like it. My opinion is that the only opinion that counts here is YOURS!
