My brother was found guilty for simple assault & battery. Can the victim sue us?
Its actually a self defense but the police officer turned the story around and the witnesses lied. We heard that he's going to sue us becoz he had an injury ( broken nose ). How far can he go? Will it hurt his property? He is married with 3 kids.
They could and his conviction in criminal court would be fairly damning evidence against him in civil court. On the other hand, look at OJ. He wasn't convicted criminally, but lost civilly.
In short, yes they can sue.

Simple question about shotgun rounds for self defense?
If one has enough time to practice, is there any point of using buckshot instead of a heavy slug?
I don't know what rounds to buy. I just bought a Mossberg 930 SPX.
Please give me advantages/disadvantages.
A) 0000 Buckshot
B) 00 Buckshot
C) A HEAVY slug (don't know the names)
D) Other
By the way I mean self defense against human targets.
Not elephants, bears, lions, deer, etc.
Can shotgun ammo penetrate soft armor?
they make safety rounds or you can use bird shot, you have to think about who else is in your house and what happens if the shot goes thru the walls.
