Silat Mubai: How can i learn it?
I am really interested in this fighting style. I have never practiced any type of martial arts before because i couldn't find an instructor or proper learning material). The only reason i want to learn this is for self-defense...no tournament, no revenge, no show off. I don't have a partner to practice with so DVDs would be most useful
I tried the website www.mubai.cc (which seems like the main website for this style) but it will not open for me (redirects me to some random search site) and there doesn't seem to be any learning material when i google for it nor anything on torrent sites. Any help would be appreciated.
1. You can't really learn a martial art by watching DVDs alone. Put simply (and I'm generalizing a whole lot here) you need to train with at least one partner, and have a competent instructor overseeing your training to point out your mistakes and suggest ways to improve your technique.
2. Religious and political stuff aside, this so-called style sounds too much like other "self defense systems" that mash techniques from various arts and slap on a "combat ready" label; and in the case of silat mubai (which, as far as I know, misuses the word 'silat' anyway) it has no clear and proper training system.
I highly suggest you (again) look for a more mainstream martial art dojo/dojang/school near where you live.

Dim Mak (Death touch)?
I want to learn the basics of Dim Mak beacuse i find it very interesting and i think it would be perfect for self defense. I found i asite but the courses are way too expensive http://www.dim-mak-world.com/dim-mak-best-points.html .So i was wondering if anyone knew any other courses or if i can find this one somewhere for free (torrent, rapidshare...) Thx a lot

My style of jiu-jitsu, Hakko Ryu, as well as Aikido teaches meridian points. I know three and have used them successfully in street self defense situations. So I can attest that meridian points do work.
Now for the 'Count Dante' Dim Mak death touch? Well one practitioner of Dim Mak gave me a demonstration which dropped me to my knees. He placed me in a wrist lock in a way which I've never seen, he keenly reached in the webbing between my thumb and forefinger as he applied his wrist lock and strangled a nerve in the process. *WOW* did that hurt/work. I learned something new from Dim Mak.
Lesson learned: Don't diss other styles. They all have something going for them.
