How can one.......?

carry a tool that shocks a person down to a ground for self defense?? Especially for women who can't physically defend herself?

The answer depends on where you live. Some places pretty much outlaw any self-defense of any kind with a device or weapon. England springs to mind, also many major American cities. Must be why they are so safe, eh?

If you can carry one without becoming a criminal yourself, Taser makes several very easy to use devices that will put anything on the ground from a distance, as long as you can aim well enough to hit the target with a pair of darts that deliver the current.

If you doubt your ability to aim and shoot under stress, you can always get a hand-held "stun gun" that delivers the charge by pressing the contact points into your target at close range. They work fairly well but it is a contact distance weapon...you have to be at arm's reach to use it. That means you are within their reach as well. Not a good place to be.

You can do a google-search and find several suppliers of law enforcement and para-military gear that sell online. Botach Tactical usually has good gear and good prices.

If it were me and you were my relative, I'd advise you to move to a jurisdiction that has rational concealed weapon carry laws, and get you a nice small caliber handgun with an aiming laser to put a dot on your target. Seeing that dot on their body and a gun in someone else's hand changes most folks' mind about who they should be messing with....but if you have issues with deadly force such areas will also allow the carry of less-than-lethal weapons like a Taser with minimal hassles.

Can I keep a Stun Gun or Pepper Spray at home for self-defense,if I live in New York?

Hi,
Could someone help me to understand the Law of possessing a stun gun or pepper spray for self-defence?
I've heard and read that it's illegal to have these tools in New York state?
If not,then why we can buy a gun or a machine-gun and not beign able to defend ourselves,especially women, by using a stun gun or pepper spray? Doesn't it sound ridiculous?
