Self Defense Stun Gun

Is this a good stun gun?

I'm going to be getting a stun gun for self defense. Is this a good stun gun?

I only want to spend around $10 If you know of a better one on ebay, that is cheap, please post the link.

I would never EVER trust my safety to a $10 "stun gun."

You get what you pay for, and you will get crap for that price.

Do any stun guns actually work?

We've all seen those countless videos on youtube about stun guns with bored teens zapping each other.

Realistically, would a stun gun ever actually be a decent self-defense weapon? I am working on a CCW permit, but I can't carry around a pistol at college for obvious reasons. The area my college is in has a very high crime rate, which is why I am curious about this question.

A stun gun is much different than a taser. When a taser is used properly, it locks up the muscles and the person is temporarily incapacitated.

A stun gun can not lock up the muscles, and it will not incapacitate the person. It can only deliver pain at the point of contact. This pain is enough to stop most attacks, but a highly motivated person can fight through this pain.
