Self Defense Rings

List martial arts that are the best at learning how to fight multiple attackers not just one person in a ring?

Boxing, kickboxing,Mauy Thia,Teakwando,Judo, wrestling and MMA focus on beating one opponent in the ring you are competing against not necessarily self defense but mostly offense.

First off running and gunning is the best tactic. In self defense, survival is the goal.

Second, there are unarmed styles that gear their students towards fighting multiples, but these styles don't train this skill to beginners. Here are a few, and how they work:
1. Aikido - Uses projections, throws, and immobilizations, also has a near full evasion move set. Also includes work with a bo staff. Only later practitioners train against multiples. They use their opponents bodies against the rest of the attacking force, in a way where they retain balance.
2. Krav Maga: Very simple. Nothing complicated. That is the idea. Some people would call this very very very dirty boxing. Training to defeat multiples begins indirectly at an early stage. You might spar one person only to find that you are surrounded by three guys pushing you around with training shields while your opponent takes advantage.
3. Kyokushin Kaikan: This is more along the lines of learning to fight multiples, one at a time. The trick here is that the style containes a challenge. That challenge is to face 100 fighters in a row without rest. That would be more along the lines of running and gunning.

Third, most armed styles of martial arts are useful against multiples, yet their weapons are not very practical. Picture yourself walking around town carrying a sword. Say good bye to dating.

Are hand wraps enough protection by them selves?

I love hitting my punching bag with every strike imaginable using nothing but my bare skin, however. The other day I bent my fist between the middle and ring finger causing a great deal of pain to my ring and little finger. I know own a pair of hand wraps and boxing gloves. Unfortunately I hate wearing big padded gloves (such as boxing gloves.) Are hand wraps good enough protection for a 14 year old learning a variety of martial arts for self defense?
