What or Which Gun would you choose for Self-Defense to Carry on your Person and for Inside your Home/*?

Home? ---- Realize in some parts of the country it is difficult to get a pistol permit so the shotgun becomes a good choice.... I have a pistol permit but for home still prefer a shotgun... 12 gauge pump....

Even if you have a pistol permit and a pistol I still think a shotgun is a part of a comprehensive home protection package.....

What are some good rifles for self defense? ?

Preferably with a large magazine capacity.

No fully automatic rifles. Cost effective?

And please don't tell me to get a shotgun or a handgun because we have that covered
My family owns a large junkyard so over-penetration through walls isn't really an issue.

Rifle is not a good weapon for self defense, to long to aim quickly, penetrates far more than necessary
