for self defense can you carry around a weapon?

if your a female and yourabout to be attacked or approached by a person armed with a knife,fun or watever..are you aloud to carry around a...knife..or ..tazer, or something to defend yourself from like a petalfile or a robber or something..im just asking cuz i dont wanna be a victim to rape or somthing retarted like that from some sicko!

1) You do NOT want to get into a knife fight.

2) Guns save lives and stop crimes. Millions of crimes are prevented every year by people who carry a gun, and about 90-95% of the time, they don't even have to fire a shot. Just revealing the gun is enough to send the criminal running.

3) Roughly half of assaults involve a weapon. Knowing self defense will not prevent anyone from attacking you, especially someone with a weapon. The only way to prevent an attack that you were otherwise unable to avoid, is to scare the attacker away, and that will require an intimidating weapon.

4) If someone is robbing you using a knife or gun, the most prudent choice may be to simply submit to the robber. Resisting, fighting or drawing your own weapon is going to seriously escalate matters, which would be the appropriate choice IF you have determined that the crime is going beyond a simple robbery.

However, for your own safety, if you choose to carry a weapon, be sure to get proper training in its use, and practice regularly.

What are your thoughts on preemptive self defense?

For instance, if a vision told a woman she would be raped by a specific stranger, should she kill the person before he had the opportunity to commit the crime, and would the vision be an acceptable defense? Would John Edwards be a good witness? What about Jim Edwards?

I think that is called murder. In any case there is nothing justifiable to attacking someone for what they may do.
