Understanding the skeptic IX: Self-fulfilling prophecy?

This quote is taken from "Scientific Defense of Astrology" website:

"Individuals often fall prey to self-fulfilling prophecy - if they think something will happen, they subtly cause it to happen . If you wake up expecting a bad day - guess what? (this phenomenon is well harnessed living with "power of positive thinking")"

This is a listed as a human factor that assists the belief in astrology.

Do you believe that the "self-fulfilling" prophesy theory is applicable to astrological precepts? If so, why/why not?

Thank you in advance.

I suppose it could be a factor in the case of predictive astrology, however this still doesn't disprove astrology as it can be used just as effectively to observe the conditions of the individual's past and present as it can be used to predict possible trends in the individual's future.

Should it be read or mindlessly followed?

Again, how is this next verse taken out of context? The anti Islam site has it listed as a separate verse, but it follows the one I previously quoted. It's right after it.

"And slay them wherever you catch them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out, for tumult and oppression are worse than slaughter. 2:191"

It's again talking about self defense. "Turn them out from where "they turned you out". If somebody takes your house, are you just going to sit there and let them, or are you going to fight them where you find them and take back your house?

Here is the verse that is right before it, talking about fighting in self-defense. What do you make of this whole situation?

"Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits, for Allah does not love transgressors. 2:190"

It makes sense but they love to misquote our Islam.
