Where is a good place to learn hacker self defense?

I have had numerous attacks on my little laptop while surfing Yahoo and the internet on CNBC for stock information. I figure it is hackers and spammers, possibly paid for by the larger investors to keep me out or just general hackers. Where can I go to learn how not to burn in this environment? Do I need to learn some programming language or is my problem the ever increasing RAM requirements for internet surfing and programming intensities that can be exploited by a handful of trained people that just want to make life miserable for as many others as possible? How can I defend myself from these hackers? What programming language(s) would I need to learn and how applicable will they be in the next generation of internet or will I need them at all then? Do I need to learn machine language to do this?

Get a Mac. That will not only end your problems with hackers, but you'll be amazed at how much more you can get done with one.
