Self defense, worst case scenario (hypothetical)?
After watching some crummy B movie with my buds, we got to questioning what we would do in a similar hypothetical scenario. So basically-
You are locked in an empty 30x30 room with a guy/gal who is 5-10% taller and bigger than you, the only way out is the key in his/her pocket. There are no windows and the walls are thick enough that no yells will be heard on the outside. The assailant clearly wants to hurt you and will not be talked out of it.
How do you get out of the situation? What would be the fastest and safest (for you) way to disable the badguy at least long enough to remove the keyring, find the correct key and unlock the door?
Assumptions:
the assailant has some form of crotch protection (a cup or whatever)
the assailant is at least as fit as you
you can not kick open the door or through a wall
there is no furniture or dirt to throw
your pockets are empty, you have no belt and are wearing sneakers
by the sounds of it, i think you may have to bend over

What is the best type of martial art/self defense for a pre-teen girl?
I'm a 12 (almost 13) yr old girl, and I want to take a martial art of self defense program for self-defense, fitness, and to help in my acting career because I understand that having a martial art will get you farther in action movies. Also, I don't want to get involved in it as a lifetime thing or as a sport or anything. So my question is this -- what would be best for me?
Okay David N you can f***in shut up because I've been a gymnast for 6 years and I have everything you said I didn't. I'm at level 16 the highest in gymnastics I think I can handle it. And people that start out younger at things are generally better than those who start later. BTW I am not a kid. I can make the right decisions unlike you..
