Self Defense Knuckles

Are brass knuckles legal for self-defense?

I can't seem to find a straight answer on my question, although I probably know the answer, i'll ask just to make sure. I take boxing classes for self-defense, but I think that might not be enough to defend my-self against 2-3 people. I'm thinking about acquiring a set of brass knuckles just for that extra power. But i'm worried that I can get into serious trouble for actually using them, even if its for self-defense purposes. Am I legally allowed to carry them just for self-defense, or will I take the fall as well?

No they are not legal in any state because they deliver blunt force instantly.
and if you carry them carry at your own risk because you will take the fall more harder than the people you used it against.
Just to be legal you are actually better off carrying a small pocket knife utility such as Buck knives because you can always say I use it at work to cut ropes, boxes and fix malfunctions on the printer.
