I am an environmental engineer and social development specialist living at Ghaziabad,u.p. near Delhi. Social work is my hobby and i have been associated with several NGOs as an advisor/consultant-freelance. The plight/condition of women in india can be improved only when they are empowered in real sense through education and financial independence. More than 90% women/girls of rural india are still illiterate/semi literate and are absolutely at the mercy of some male members. Dowery system has crushed their rest of the women dignity to hilt. No govt./non govrtnmental org./agencies seem serious on this matter. The plan is such that the population explosion problem of the country will also be reduced in the same stretch. Had i been financially sound, i would have done a lot till this time. I can take leave from my service also if this opportunity i get.
