Pistol For Self Defense
What is a good pistol with little to no recoil for self-defense?
I'm planning to start shooting regularly and am in the market for a pistol. Unfortunately, I had issues firing the 9mm semi-auto Sig 229 the other day - I let too much recoil come through, so the casing kept getting stuck, meaning I had to tap and rotate after every shot.
So - is there a good caliber that can double as both a practice pistol and a self-defense weapon? Or should I just save and plan on buying two guns at this point?
Also - can you recommend which manufacturers make low recoil guns for the higher calibers?
In my experience what is fun to shoot is not a good self-defense weapon. So, to answer your question, save up and get two guns. I get to the range about once a week and take either my Taurus 85 or my Ruger LCP (the self-defense guns) and my .22 target pistol. I put 25 - 50 rounds through the self-defense gun and spend the rest of the hour with the .22.

best semi automatic pistol 4 self defense??
what semi automatic pistol is the best at stopping/killing (if you have 2) a intruder or attacker?? something that is strong enough 2 actually do some damage but that doesnt have 2 much kick? less kick so that you can accurately aim for a second shot faster if needed.
i live in california. i always hear people talking about desert eagles and magnums but im not trying 2 kill a bear or elephant.
something that is much stronger than a .22 but much weaker than a .45.
If you want smaller than a 45 go for the 40 S&W. Handgun: 1911 clone in 40 S&W.
Too bad you live in CA, the Para-Ordnance P-16 is awesome.
