Questions for guys working in an auto shop?!?
1. Which can't cause electric shock? Missing ground prong, using electric drill on wet floor, using electric tool with ground prong, or none of those answers?
2. When working under a car that is raised on a floor jack: should you make sure jack is centered, use safety jacks, do both, or are none of these correct?
3. Should you use non-slip shoes, steel toed shoes, both, or neither?
4. When checking for tire damage should you do a visual inspection, run hand around to check for tire damage, or neither of those things?
5. Which is correct usage for an air compressor: using it to blow off your clothes and hair, using it to clean top of work bench, or neither of those options?
Thanks guys, I'd really appreciate it! I was assigned of few of these questions in auto-tech, and just wanted to see what some guys that actually worked there thought! Thanks again!
1 , a ground wire if not connected will spark
2. i thought you were talking about a car lift. sorry, but yes allways use a jack stand on each side of the car, no matter what .
3.use non-slip steel toed boots-or just steal toed boots
4.do a visual inspection first to see if there are any wires sticking out because if you run your hand over the tire without looking you will get a surprise when you get stuck in your hand with steel wires from the tire.
5.i have allways used an air compr. for both of those reasons as well as other actuall mechanical uses, i dont see anything wrong with it, feels good on a sweaty face too, when you need to cool off.
