What legal weapons are allowed in the UK?
To be more specific.
I own a shop and recently there was a smash and grab incident through the window. As i currently dont have any protection i.e. weapons to warn the theives away or scare them, i was wondering what is legal in the UK. I was thinking of an air pistol but is it legal to use these as self defense to stop the thieves?

You cannot use a weapon of any kind to stop theft, even when defending yourself against personal attack you are only allowed to use sufficient 'force' to deter the attack. Whack a would be robber over the head with a baseball bat and you will up in court as well as the robber and you would get the more severe sentence.
