Does or has your 'dojo'/ school-taught you the legal definition of self defense?

I only ask as a response of reading some of these questions/answers.
I don’t expect people to be legal experts but I do believe the 'instructor' is responsibility to inform his students of at least the basics. Or perhaps as I suspect a good deal of the comments here are from people who have very little if any actual study of the TMA or any MA for that matter
Apologies I did not clarify that this scenarios is applicable to a 'dojo' or school which advertised the application/benefits of their Martial Art for self defense.Possibly this is only about 70-80%of them?:)
If the TMA being taught does not refer to this then the question is invalid.-Thanks

The law is pretty complicated. It is written by lawyers and judges, since most politicians are graduates of Law school, ivy League version.
