Did the allies give jews that land they call Israel in self defense?

They wanted the Arab factions to win in the protectorate.
The Brits have no more love for Jews than the US did and does.
The creation of a Jewish state was seen as necessary by those who survived the holocaust.
By any means necessary.
The British, not the allies, left the protectorate with a tacit understanding that they had, they thought, made it too difficult for the Jews to win a war against the Arabs. They underestimated the desperation that Jews in the Mandate felt about being a hated and stateless people.

By the collective, I'm talking about groups that claim to speak for them as a racial identity like the NAACP, La Raza, and AIPAC and the Jewish Defense League.
