Amidst the worldwide economic crisis and recession......?

who's benefiting from the current situation? Is it possible for some groups of people/entrepreneurs/organizations to benefit from this sad state of the economy?

Perhaps the benefit is not immediate. But eventually honest, hardworking, and economically prudent people will benefit from the present economic crisis.

Because badly managed and inefficient companies are going bankrupt. While well managed, efficient companies remain in business. And in the long run this will make the whole economy more efficient and better managed.

People who have imprudently ran up huge debts now have to deal with the consequences. While prudent people who have accumulated savings can take advantage of various investment opportunities.

When bad behavior is punished and prudent behavior is rewarded. Then people learn to behave better, economically speaking that is. And this is beneficial for the whole country and for the economy in the long run.
