Then they were illegally transported to the state or municipality where the crime was committed.
Why is it so bad to put restrictions on dealers and buyers so we can stop or at least slow down the transfer of illegal arms?
Not long ago, I was in Virginia. I passed a gun shop with five cars in the lot. Two were New York, one was New Jersey and one was Washington, DC. Only one was with Virginia plates.
Do you think it was a coincidence they all stopped to use this gun store's clean rest rooms or ask for friendly directions? What do you think they were doing there? Do you think it is suspicious to see mostly out of state plates in a gun shop located in a state with lax gun laws?
How do you think illegal guns end up in the hands of criminals? I think legal purchases elsewhere or stolen from people who purchased guns for "self defense".

Perhaps a better approach would be to identify people who are exhibiting symptoms of mental illness and get them treated in mental hospitals. (Involuntarily confined if necessary)

I think that it is interesting that in every case that I have heard of in these shooting, the shooter exhibited symtpoms of serious mental illness long before the shooting took place.

The answer is that people with these types of mental illneses need to be in mental hospitals.

These smuggled guns and ammunition are sold illegally on the black market to criminals who cannot buy them legally and are willing to pay high prices for those guns.

A fully automatic AK47 sells for more than $2,000 on the black market in the United States when sold to criminals.

Smugglers load up shipping contaners with thousands of fully automatic AK47 machine guns and sell them to criminals every year.

these guns are illegal everywhere in the United States, yet any street criminal with $2,000 can buy one.

No amount of gun laws will prevent a black market gun smuggler from smuggling guns into the United States. And like drugs, selling illegal guns to Criminals who are not allowed to own those guns is a very profitable business.

The Muslim from Turkey that you spoke to was a dumb ass. He doesn't know what Jihad is and what it represents. When Mohammad dictated the Koran (he couldn't write) he made it clear that all non-Muslims were to be converted to the Islamic faith one way or another. The Jihad is a holy war in order to achieve that goal. If a Jihadist is killed attempting to achieve this goal then he goes directly to heaven where 72 virgins with clear eyes and very beautiful faces and ample bosoms are waiting for him. What a temptation! Mohammad was one of the world's great bullshit artists because much of what he wrote in many other portions of the Koran come from the Jewish Talmud. Even the way Muslims pray was a device used by earlier Jews several thousands of years ago. This in turn was taken from the early Persians. Mohammad borrowed much from Christianity and the Jewish Talmud in his creation of the Koran. To convert infidels to the Islamic faith is a requirement of being a Muslim. I can go on and on but I am sure you do not wish to read a history of the Muslims.
