A message from Denise
I have always wanted to be a public speaker. I took speaker
training a few years ago and wanted to find a way I could do something with
socially redeeming value and create income at the same time. I have been a clinical
nutritionist for the last 20 plus years, teaching individuals and also
working at the corporate training level.
I started
teaching safety seminars in late February, 2004. I
felt there was a need to teach a safety program to women on the West
Coast so I created a network of speakers here, and we’ve been expanding ever since.
I am dedicated to taking this message to as many women as I can and
will speak for free to groups of 20 or more. I sell pepper spray to
fund my efforts and I do get some corporate donations. I use these
donations to provide pepper spray to women (primarily students) who
may want it, but can't afford it. I speak to schools, businesses, organizations
and any other gathering of women. Some days I sell a lot of pepper
spray, some days I do not, but I figure it all evens out. My intention
is to stop violent crimes against women and I feel that empowering
women through education is a key part of this process.
I
was a rape victim and I knew that I was being given an opportunity to heal on a deeper
level and also to maybe make a difference in the lives of other women.
What a gift we've been given.
The
response to this program has been amazing and we're in the process of
creating more advanced programs. We've also come across some other safety
related products that we think our women might be interested in purchasing
and will be putting them up for sale on the site. I hope that you enjoy
this site and please send me your comments and suggestions.
I
donate a portion of the proceeds of each pepper spray to charity - roughly
10% of the profits. I have a main charity at this point and that is
RAINN, an organization that provides 24/7 hotline counseling to rape
victims. I believe in companies that give back to their communities
and hope that you will support these efforts through spreading the word
about us. I appreciate you and have been enriched through my interaction
with you and hope you feel the same.
Blessings,
Denise
