Can you describe your companies key features?
The characteristics of your workplace that would encourage employees to behave in enterpising ways

First thoughts - do you truly want employees to behave in enterprising ways? Are you willing for employees to get in and do? Or, is this just cos it's supposed to sound good?

If you want enterprise, innovation and creativity - good on you, they are the skills that will become more and more necessary in the future, if you are truly willing to foster this you will find that employees are a great resource on ideas and innovations. To behave in enterprising ways means you' will also accept that sometimes mistakes will be made. Since you often don't know if something will work till you try it...if you push "successful" or "helpful" you won't get enterprise because you're employees will be worried that they might fail...so to foster enterprising behavior, innovation and creativity...you need to foster trying

How do you reconcile these?

How do you reconcile the risk taking characteristic
of the entrepreneur with the concepts of (1)
scarcity of resources; and (2) opportunity costs?

Scarcity of resources if opportunity to find the resources when others can't reconcile it.

Profit is a the sale price minus the costs, add the oppurtunity costs in before you set the sale price.
