Bjj For Self Defense

Krav Maga and Muay Thai, or BJJ and Muay Thai - for self-defense?

I have the opportunity to learn either Krav Maga with Muay Thai or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu with Muay Thai. What do you think is better?!?

listen to CM77 ...as great as muay thai and bjj are....they are sports. brazilian jujutsu teaches self defense at the beginning, but after your first belt its all sport grappling from there. and its pretty dumb to fight on the ground when you don't have to.

Can anyone tell me which martial art is better to combine with judo for and only for self defense?

Wing Chun Kung Fu or Bjj

I have nothing against Kung Fu but I don't see it as the most practical. I would say look into another stand-up strike oriented style. Personally I feel that whenever you cross over and start striking in a self defense situation you quit "defending" and start "attacking" but these styles will teach you how to block, and if necessary, strike back.
I do Judo so I may be bias, but I would say that since BJJ is derived from Judo you won't gain a lot from doing both. The moves thought in BJJ all come from earlier Japanese Jujitsu, as does Judo. The difference is that Jigoro Kano (the developer of Judo) purposely kept only the most effective and simplest moves. In a real life self defense situation you don't have time to set-up your submission, nor do you want to risk opening yourself by trying a submission that is easily escapeable.
