For self defense only, help!?

I'm wondering whats the best weapon ( like a steel baseball bat ) or anything like that for anybody who knocks on your door for something? I don't want any answers that are like " dont do that just open it without no weapons etc " just need some ideas to threaten the people that walk to my door. I Was thinking of showing up with a knife or something when I open the door

Self defense is for when you have a reasonable fear for your safety. There would have to be something other than just knocking at your door, as you could solve the problem by just not answering it.

If you do display a weapon, and it is not reasonable, then you allow the other person to legally defend themselves.

3.USING AN OFFENSIVE WEAPON.NAMLEY AN AXE.
4.THEFT.
5.ASSAULT ON A POLICE OFFICER.
6 ASSAULT ON 4 SECURITY GUARDS.
7.USING A BASEBALL BAT IN SELF DEFENSE.
THIS WAS 32 YEARS AGO
IS THIS JUSTEFIABLE?
I THOUGHT ALL THESE WOULD COME IN HANDY IN COMBAT.
